After successful completion of the online theory, your assessments being marked an electronic certificate will be sent by email.

After enrolling, you have 1 year to complete the course. You have unlimited access across any and all devices you own.

Don’t worry, your quiz will be reset to complete again , along with feedback notes from your tutor. You will be supported by our tutors until you have successfully completed the online theory.

You will receive your certificate within 5 working days of your case studies being marked and submitted by email.

Course Specific FAQs

A minimum of informed consent is required from your client. All insurance companies set their own guidelines which must be adhered to. However it is our mission here at START with touch to make it easier for therapists to treat clients with a history of cancer by first developing this thorough training and second to continue to communicate with all the leading underwriters.

Each membership company sets their own number of CPD points which depends on the amount of learning hours. START with touch Oncology massage Introductory course will take you a minimum of 10 hours study.

After successful completion of the online theory assessment questions, level 2 practical assessment and your complete case studies, you will receive your certificate within 5 working days of your case studies being marked and submitted by email.

There is no need to invest in anything start with what you have!

I'm guessing you have a few crystals , then just start with that.

Here is a recommended list to work with: Pendulum

Selection of crystals (cleansed and energised)

Cleansing aid of your choice (even clapping your hands)

Blanket/ pillows/ cushions , whatever you need to get comfortable sitting or lying down.

Prior to your practical level 2 Oncology massage assessment please watch all the lessons.

 

Andy/Bethany Oncology massage treatment assessment will take place via a 90 minute zoom class and your link will be sent to you via email.

Your Tutor will instruct you to demonstrate an Oncology massage routine based on Andy & Bethany as clients.This will last around 50 mins.

You will need to demonstrate

 

Appropriate bolstering techniques, make sure you have enough towels etc.

Massage in a side-lying position.

Demonstrate correct pressure and full hand contact technique, 

Demonstrate risk of lymphedema routine and

Demonstrate risk of DVT routine.

Important to practice and prepare before class

 

Positioning of camera for assessment- to allow your tutor to see you and the whole bed.

Familiarise yourself with Andy & Bethany's consultation and lesson.

Watch the risk of lymphedema routine, Risk of DVT routine and bolstering lessons and practice the routines and towel origami™ bolstering techniques in preparation for your assessment.

 

Bolstering Supine & Restorative touch™ assessment will take place via a 60 minute zoom class and your link will be sent to you via email.

 

Your Tutor will talk you through and guide you through every step of the restorative touch routine™, this will last around 30 mins, after the supine bolstering techniques have been assessed.

You will need to demonstrate the following bolstering techniques, make sure you have enough towels etc.

 

Princess Leia head support, 

Leg triangle pillow stack,

W- Leg bolster,

W-Ankle bolster,

Swaddle wrap and

Arm bolster.

Remember to practice ahead of your class your own start and end of your restorative touch™ treatment where you clearly instruct your client to use their breath and even add in a guided thought, instruction or meditation.

 

You will need to demonstrate the following during the restorative touch™ routine:

 

Clear start and finish instructions using breath work.

Your tutor may ask your client for feedback during and or after the treatment as part of the assessment.

Live online assessment via zoom class checklist:

 

Model (does not need to be someone with or had cancer for the class), and massage couch, chair or stool if preferred.

Sufficient bedding, towels, pillows, blankets to perform bolstering techniques.

Hand sanitiser, wipes.

Extra equipment- PPE (dependant on model, their treatment etc. and Covid-19 guidance),

Good internet connection,

Camera and microphone functioning on (earphones/ headphones optional),

As you are a qualified massage therapist, you should have public liability insurance in place. Please contact your insurance provider to inform them you will be undertaking 3 case studies as part of the START with touch Oncology Massage Level 3 course. Every insurance company is different, but the majority of them will cover you without an extra premium.
